This area is the jewel of the Sierras, both summer and winter. Beautiful knotty pine interior, granite open fireplace, and a great deck looking out over the Tahoe and Christmas valley areas all located just outside the Desolation wilderness. Echo Lakes freezes over in the winter and makes for breath-taking scenery to ski or snowshoe by, and in the summer it is an amazing swimming/hiking/boating paradise. The Pacific Crest trail, Pony Express Trail and Tahoe Rim Trail are right here too! Forest Service cabin. Currently sleeps up to 5 people.
